About the Applied Accounting career pathway
If you have a passion for numbers, problem-solving and technology, accounting might be just the field for you. The Applied Accounting career pathway in the Business Technology Management (BTM) program helps students prepare for entry-level roles like accounting clerk, accounting associate, bookkeeper, and payroll clerk.
From small companies to mega-corporations to non-profits, accountants are needed in every area of business and industry. Washington state has some of the nation’s highest employment levels and annual wages for accounting and bookkeeping clerks, according to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

How to Get Started
The Applied Accounting career pathway option is available to students Business Technology Management, which includes an Associate of Applied Science option.
In addition to specialized training, you will learn the business and office skills you need for entry-level work in the field. If you are interested in earning a short-term industry certificate in Applied Accounting, enroll in these classes after completing the prerequisite classes for the Business Technology Management Certificate.
